プラスチック製容器包装 分ければ１万７千世帯分のＣＯ₂削減
昨年度の名古屋市のごみ量は６１万１千トン。「ごみ非常事態宣言」が出された１９９８年度と比べると約４割減少していますが、ここ数年は横ばいです。プラスチック製・紙製容器包装の資源分別率が低下しています。プラスチック製容器包装の分別率は４５％で、ピーク時の３分の２程度、紙製容器包装は２３％で同じく３分の１程度です。
私は、９月議会の市議会総務環境委員会で、「容器包装以外のプラスチックが、不燃ごみから可燃ごみに分別区分が変更されて以降、『プラスチックは燃やすもの』という意識を市民の中に広げてしまい、市民の分別・リサイクル意識を後退させたてしまったのではないか」と質問。環境局は「区分が分かりにくいという声をいただいた」と答えました。
ごみに混ざっているプラスチック製容器包装がすべて資源に分けられれば、ＣＯ₂の排出量を７．４万トン減らせることも、私の質問で明らかになりました。これは、１万７千世帯分のＣＯ₂排出量に相当します。ごみ減量は地球温暖化防止にも効果があるのです。
